Am right there with you man. I was travelling in the 80's and early 90's and stayed for a long time at Ban Kai. I remember chilled evenings with ganja and a few shrooms. It was Paradise. Beer was warm Singha, maybe a Kloster but as there was no electricity it was never cold so therefore undrinkable.

I have seen videos posted on you tube from Half Moon and Full Moon and was shocked what they've done to the place. The music was awful - and listen I enjoyed dance music. I still listen to lo-fi and dub. But what the fuck has happened? And we used to clean the beaches.

By the way I used to score some Nepalese Charas in Ban Tai. Where were you man? Maybe we met somewhere. Is Jub Bungalow still there?

When are they going to take a breather from developing the island and do some cleaning up? The rubbish is totally out of control and a real eye-sore. If the Thais think older (farang) tourists with money are going to come and stay in their over-priced (albeit, tacky) bungalows, then they're seriously deluding themselves. It's like holidaying in a rubbish tip. Paradise lost!
