| 15th October 2004 - 12:16:22 PM | | 22 : Simon | | Sorry, today we hab a short downtime of an half day ... partly my fault ... I setup the computer where our website is running on "automatic update" ... the update failed last night ... and somehow the PHP parser went currupt. ... Anyway I installed it new now it is up and running again. |
| 08th October 2004 - 03:53:06 PM | | 21 : Simon | I'm sure you mean "North" or "East" ... because in the South is just a lot of sea water ...
In the North of Thongsala (or the West - Side of Phangan) it is much more quiter ... not so much bars (thats why it is so quite ...). I don't know what you mean with "better than average bar scene" ... here are just a bunch of drunken farangs sitting at roadside bars and try to make some kind of strange impression to the local bar girls ... |
| 08th October 2004 - 07:08:54 AM | | 20 : Brian | | I would like to know which is a better beach area to stay, north of thongsala or south of it. I`m interested in the west side and would like a place that has a nice sandy beach with a better than average bar scene. |
| 03rd October 2004 - 03:31:45 AM | | 19 : simon | Look at http://phangan.beckspaced.com for Information about Full Moon party related information. But anyway ... you are too late ... the party was good ... 10 years ago.
I like the smaller parties like HalfMoon or Blackmoon ... |
| 29th September 2004 - 07:02:27 AM | | 18 : shin | does anyone have any information on the full moon party?
is there a web site or anything?
please please please |
| 18th September 2004 - 10:34:09 AM | | 17 : Simon | Hallo Gloria,
yes it is advisable to book now, because you want to come in december, and this is high season, the island will be packed until end of january.

| 17th September 2004 - 03:02:11 PM | | 15 : Gloria | Hi again-
I forgot to mention that we'd like to be fairly close to the beach but not beach front. Is it advisable to book now for availability?
Thank you! |
| 17th September 2004 - 02:59:47 PM | | 14 : Gloria | Hello!
We are coming back to Thailand from Dec-Feb and want to stay on Koh Phangan for a few weeks or a month. We want a place that is near food and nightlife but still a little secluded. We don't want to have to rent a car all the time. We also want calm(not big waves) water that has snorkeling and are looking to spend about 7000bht(electricity included). Can you help us? |
| 13th September 2004 - 12:51:34 PM | | 13 : Simon | Hello Brian,
for what kind of price range are you looking for ?
Do you need a shower inside ?
There are lot's of bunglow places on the west side and it's not so crowded there.
I would suggest you to look at ...
http://obj59.phanganisland.com
I stayed there for few month, nice view, and you have a kitchen, even you are in a Bungalow Resort (Banana Beach). In case you stay longer than a month I can give you 500 Baht discount.
|
| 12th September 2004 - 06:04:25 AM | | 12 : Brian | | I`m going back to Thailand again this October for a three months stay and this time I`m going to stay in ko phangan, can you tell me a good place to stay on the west side,am looking for bungalow type places that rent long term. |
| 24th July 2004 - 10:09:17 AM | | 11 : Simon | Hallo Isabelle,
The coast of opening a restaurant starting from 200.000 Baht, in my opinion, but Im sure some will say you could do it with less. There are a lot foreign owned / managed business, especially restaurants here. They all have some from of Thai partnership involved, since it is legally impossible to have a complete foreign owned business. But until now no French restaurant here ... may it's time for that ...
The location is very important for doing restaurant business. Best (and most expensive to rent or buy) are places in Thong Sala and Haad Rin.
On our website you can find just one house suited for restaurant business.
look at ... http://obj81.phanganisland.com ....
... this is for rent for 14.000 Baht a month.
And in the next few days I will add a buisness place in the middle of Thong Sala, now there is a bar inside. It will be for around 15.000 Baht for rent. |
| 22nd July 2004 - 08:14:06 PM | | 10 : isabelle | Hi!
Looking for some information about the way to come to live in the island with my boyfriend : are there possibilities of opening a restaurant in front of beach, are there places to rent, already equipped with necessary material, and how much expensive would it be more or less.
Conditions in the island seem to be perfect, i just need some advices from people living there.
Thanks in advance !

Thanks for this. I remember we used to take a motorcycle taxi from Thong Sala to Ban Khai. Walk around the beach pass Golden Beach, Thong Yang, Koh Phangan Beach resort (ha ha)then to Booms Cafe and along the Beach to Silvery Moon. After that Bangson Villa. There was no road you could take. Is this still the beach set ups after Ban Khai? Could anyone reading this site confirm that Booms & Silvery still operate or have they been bought up and turned into Concrete??
Any news would be great. |
| 09th June 2004 - 09:59:56 AM | | 6 : Simon | Hallo David & Anne,
it could be a shock for you, but the island is much more developed then just a few year ago. Electric is everywhere by now.
But there is still no McDonald, KFC or any of that crap on the island, but besides this, there is now not so much difference between Samui and Phangan.
7 Eleven are everywhere ... but that not so bad at all ... especially if you need something in the middle of the night ...
Renting places is now quite expensie (like you can see on our website ;-) ) ... I remember about 4-5 years ago you could find a house for long term rent for abot 2000 per month. This things changed a lot ...
But still a nice place to stay ...
Simon

| 07th June 2004 - 06:36:53 PM | | 5 : David @ Anne | We went to the Island first back in 1989. We stayed at Silvery Moon Bungalows (next to Booms Cafe, is this still there?) @ Ban Kai from November - June it was very peaceful with many long term travelers. We met up most winters until 1993 and it was very cool
Now please tell me What has happened? We had no electricity (we didn't need or want it).Are there streets in Ban Khai ??. We used to walk to Haad Rin around the rocks thru bungalow set ups. Please tell me is there a road between Thong Sala and Rin beach ?
We may go back next year, but i fear i will be shocked at the commerciality of the place. One thing please don't tell me Mcdonalds has opened there !!!
Cheers David & Anne
