| 23rd April 2006 - 12:11:49 PM | | 221 : Antti (IP:83.102.88.155) | | Hi! Me and my finance have been planning a trip to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao for next year (no idea about more specific time). We'll leave Finland as soon as we get the money together for few months trip. Anyway, I've searhed the net alot but I'd like to hear an honest opinion and information on the bungalow prices; Is it impossible to get a bungalow for two with twin bed, fan and toilet for max 300 BHT per night in Koh Phangan and Koh Tao (preferrably sunset side). I just want to make sure because alot of the prices seem to differ depending on the web site. Thanks alot in advance :) |
| 16th April 2006 - 12:07:12 PM | | 219 : Simon (IP:203.170.228.172) | Hello Helen Alcock,
It's difficult to recommend one of them, because it dependes a lot on what you want to do on the island.
Hadd Khon Tee Resort is great if you a looking for a quite beach holiday with economic prices. But you can't go there by motorbike, that means you have to wait always for a boat taxi (or take the 15 min. Jungle Walk) to get to town.
Haad Son is really nice, rainbow bungalow I don't know about.
And yes ... bring your laptop (I would never go anywhere without one), there a even a fe WiFi Sopts on the island now.

The Burmese family that ran the place were great and the food was awesome. I'm heading back there this coming December, does anyone know how to contact them? i would love get a booking. Also, how long is the bus/boat from Bangkok to Haad Rin? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Tim |
| 06th April 2006 - 05:46:34 PM | | 217 : Helen Alcock (IP:84.203.162.171) | Hi again Simon,
Also just saw Booms cafe? Would like to spend my time relaxing, exploring, partying and swimming. Oh ya - is there any point bringing my lap top? If internet is abundent it would just be one extra thing to carry, but we will be on the Island a few months. Any pointers you or anyone reading this have would be a bonus!
Thanks again!

| 06th April 2006 - 05:35:27 PM | | 216 : Helen Alcock (IP:84.203.162.171) | Hi Simon,
I must say I have laughed at some of your descriptions on the site - in particular the burma visa run! Mr. Smiley's coffee might be worth a visit as well. Anyway, will be arriving on May 2nd and thinking of staying at the Khontee Resort, My phangon resort, haad son resort,or rainbow bungalows. Can you recommend the best? I would like a beach front bungalow with a nice atmosphere. I know your busy but if you have time that would be great. thanks a million, helen |

I e-mailed you regarding old photos of KPG. Are you still interested in setting up a folder to see what KPG was like in the late 80's early 90's?? |
| 16th March 2006 - 05:38:40 AM | | 211 : Simon (IP:203.146.247.68) | Hello boem,
Had Yao is not so quite anymore ... in fact it is one of the "other" places (than Haad Rin) booming on KPG ...
About Fullmoon, don't get me wrong I like the party, but it has an negative impact on the Island ...

Thanx |
| 14th March 2006 - 11:57:44 AM | | 208 : Nikki (IP:80.3.160.9) | HI Do you have any more info on houses to buy in Had Rin? Not to rent. Also the roads is def the worst problem in Phangan. If people don't like the full moon parties then there's plenty of quiet places like Had Yao to go or better still another island!!
Thanks nikki xx |
