| How are the road conditions? (2005-10-07) | Very different, depending on season (rain, drunken turists) and area on the island. Most road are made out of concret, so take extra care for sand the curves. On Koh Phangan is still much less traffic than Samui. The road to Haad Rin is now improved and most people can drive it.

| What is important when I rent a motorbike? (2005-10-07) | Brakes should be working good, lights too. If you have any bigger problem with the bike, notify the owner. If you run out of engine oil (the red light), refill it as soon as possible, if the eninge take any damage, you will be responsible.
If it bikes has no number plates, that's no problem, since it can take upto an half year until number plates for a new bikes arrive from Bangkok.

| Why nobody wears a helmet on Koh Phangan? (2005-10-07) | Simply because police checks are rarly performed, and it quite uncomfortable to wear them. If you feel more save wearing one, ask at the motorbike shop where you got your bike from.

| What kind of bike should I rent? (2005-10-07) | This depends very much on what you do and where you stay. For most streets and drivers a semi-automatic scouter, like a Honda Dream, is maybe the best choice. If you are more expirenced and drive on dirt tracks, get one of the uplifted Honda Sonics with offroad tires.
In recent years more shops offering big bikes like choppers and superbikes, but the streets you can drive them on are limited.
