Accommodation Guide for Koh Phangan

PhanganIsland.com started as a agency for longterm rentals in 2003. Since 2005 we offer additionally online booking and reservation for a broad range of bungalow resort and guest houses on the island.

Finding the right accommodation for your vacation or longterm stay, can be a time consuming and difficult task, since most resorts lack the possibility of online booking, and even if a place have their own booking page, communication with the local staff can be tricky too.

For a short holiday (up to two weeks) it would be the best to stay at a bungalow resort, even the price is a bit higher than private house, you don't have to care about anything, so your (short) time is only spend on relaxing.

But if you stay longer than two weeks, it could be worth, to take a look into our database of longterm rental houses. Not only that the per day price is much lower compared to a guesthouse or bungalow resort, you can also save money by having a fridge, so cold drinks can be bought a the next supermarket, instead of the expensive resort restaurant. All longterm houses are equipped with a kitchen and frigde.Many of our upper class houses features also things like air con, Satellite/UBC TV, DVD Player and Internet Access.

We can also offer packages for for rental motorbikes and accommodation for a good price, ask for rental bikes after you contacted us for an accommodation.

Example budget calculations for planning a vacation on Koh Phangan

In the following example calculations we just consider basic expenses (Accommodation, Food, Transportation),there a still loads of opportunities to spend much more than this. ;-)

Case 1:
2 persons for 14 Days, upper class resort for 1.200 Baht per day, using only taxis to get around the island (calculation with an average of 150 Baht per day), therefore they eat most of the time in the restaurant of the resort (500 Baht per day).

Case 2:
2 persons for 30 Days, upper class rental house for 15.000 Baht per month together with a Honda Sonic motorbike in a package deal, therefore they can eat any restaurant or cook food by them self in their kitchen (all rental houses are equipped at least with a kitchen and refrigerator), so for food I just calculate 300 Baht a day.

Case 3:
4 persons (2 couples) for 30 Days, big rental house with two sleeping rooms for 18.000 Baht per month together with two Honda Sonic motorbikes (each 3.000 Baht) in a package deal, therefore they can eat any restaurant or cook food by them self in their kitchen, so for food I just calculate 500 Baht a day for everybody.
